Australian Terrier Rescue is a (501C)(3)
nonprofit organization that was formed to assist in the safety and well-being
of any Australian Terrier in need.
Whether a rescue from shelters and other
endangered situations or a placement, homes relinquishing their aussie, we offer
whatever assistance is needed on an immediate basis.
Our goals are to provide
emergency, regular, or long-term assistance for both the aussie and adoptive home,
evaluate, restore and rehabilitate the physical and behavioral health of the aussie,
transport, foster, and properly place in an appropriate, loving home that will
ensure the best possible future for the dog.
This organization is made
up entirely of people who volunteer their time and money to foster and place these
little dogs in caring, loving homes.
All dogs that come into Rescue will
be neutered or spayed before they are placed in new homes. The expenses
of this rescue work are paid for solely by tax-deductible private donations and
fundraising activities. 85% of the dogs we take into rescue are older, have
a disability, or often come in pairs.
We do sometimes get dogs that are
between 4-6 years old. We very seldom have young dogs or puppies!
If
you are truly interested in a rescue dog that is an older dog, or a dog with a
disability, please e-mail us via the form on the APPLICATION
page.
We will keep your name on file and contact you whenever a dog is
available for rescue
Sometimes, as volunteers, we get busy with our own
dogs and lives, please be patient in receiving an e-mail from the Coordinator
assigned to your state. If you have not heard back from
someone in a week, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Check
out our AVAILABLE AUSSIES
to see who needs a home at the moment.
We are desperately in need of foster
homes and sponsors for our older and disabled dogs.
